Background

HDFC Asset Management Company Ltd (HDFC AMC) was incorporated in the year 1999, and was approved to act as an AMC for the HDFC Mutual Fund by SEBI in the year 2000. The custodians for the AMCs are HDFC Bank and Citibank.

Business Profile

HDFC AMC offers a wide range of equity, liquid, debt, fixed maturity, quarterly interval and children’s gift fund schemes for individual and institutional investors. The company also provides advisory services to FII’s and domestic insurance companies and portfolio management services to HNI’s and corporates. As on Mar 31 2008, the total number of accounts under HDFC MF stood at 3,089,686 as compared to 2,146,451 in the previous year. During the same period, HDFC AMC operated 135 official points of acceptances and 47 investor service centres. The company also has a representative office in Dubai, UAE. In FY08, HDFC AMC launched real estate portfolio management services for resident individuals and corporate under its portfolio management services.
