Business Profile

IG Petrochemicals is primarily engaged in the production of PAN, which is mainly used in the manufacture of plasticisers for production of PVC products, shoe soles & other commodities; alkyd resins used for manufacturing of paints, as an intermediate in production of dyes and pigments, and in production of unsaturated polyester resins. The company’s products cater to industries like paints, textiles, printing inks, and plastic.

The company operates through a plant at Taloja, Maharashtra. For FY09, the company's annual installed capacity stood at 110,000 MTPA of PAN. IG Petrochemicals also has an in-house R&D facility, which undertakes R&D for developing the process of PAN downstream value-added products. During FY08, the company ventured into the power sector and generated 162,000 units of power. In FY09, the company produced 106,471 MT of PAN, a decrease of approximately 4% as compared to the previous year as result of sharp cyclical downturn due to global economic recession. During the same year, its plant operated at around 97% of installed capacity. In FY09, the company's exports contributed around 35% to its revenue. In Nov 2008, the company got converted into a domestic unit from a 100% EOU in order to enable it to sell its entire production in the domestic market without any restrictions
