Rashtriya Chemicals and Fertilizers Ltd (RCF), a Miniratna company, was incorporated by the GoI in 1978. The company was established following the reorganisation of the erstwhile Fertilizer Corporation of India Ltd and National Fertilizer Ltd RCF is involved in the manufacture of fertilisers and industrial products

Business Profile

RCF operates through two divisions: fertilisers and industrial products. The company manufactures urea and nutrients like nitrogen, phosphate, and potassium. Sujala, Suphala 15:15:15, Suphala 20:20:0, Ujjwala, Microla and Biola are the company's major fertilisers.

It produces industrial chemicals like methanol, methylamines & derivatives, ammonium nitrate and sodium nitrate, sodium nitrite and ammonium bicarbonate and formic acid among others. The company also provides soil testing and soil analysis services along with training to farmers. RCF has two manufacturing units in Thal and Trombay, both in Maharashtra and a laboratory at Trombay, engaged in analysing micronutrients.

In FY09, RCF produced 2.38 MMT of fertilisers during the year as against 2.30 MMT in the previous year. In FY09, its Fertilisers business contributed more than 92% to the total revenue. It has an annual capacity of 2 MMT of urea; 661,000 MT of suphala; 99,000 MT of sulphuric acid and 49,500 MT of methanol.

In April 2009, the company signed an agreement with Future Products Pvt. Ltd to set up a JV to market wall panels, putty and other related products by using gypsum. In FY08, RCF incorporated a JV company with RSMML for setting up manufacturing facilities of DAP 850 MTPD at Kapasan in Rajasthan.
