Ever since corporatization of business, raising capital for survival and growth has been the focus area for corporate finance managers. The methods of raising capital have evolved over the years with bank based finance making way for capital market based finance. With movement of capital becoming easy across the borders, newer and complex instruments are used to raise capital. Experiencing from financial crisis regulators are revamping the regulatory infrastructures.
Prior to financial crisis, we had seen a huge spurt in M&A activity, internationally as well as domestically. The investment bankers were busy evaluating various M&A proposals and complicated structures involving high leverage were being designed. However, subsequent de-risking initiatives required a slowdown in all these activities.
What does it all mean for corporate finance managers of today? Has the objective of shareholder value creation changed? Do M&A create value for shareholders? How does one evaluate a leveraged buyout structure? How would corporate governance be helpful in bringing back investors’ confidence? How to develop skills required to evaluate corporate finance decisions in continuously changing business environment?
With a view of deliberating on some of the corporate finance related issues and providing finance professionals with necessary skills to understand various aspects of corporate finance transactions, Dun and Bradstreet (D&B) India announces a certification course on Corporate Finance.
