Dun & Bradstreet India (D&B India), continuing its commitment towards supporting the development of small and medium enterprises, has launched the Inaugural edition of Emerging SMEs: Hyderabad 2008. The publication is the fifth in the cluster series dedicated exclusively to the SMEs across the country and profiles the emerging SMEs in the Hyderabad cluster in an attempt to provide them a platform to showcase their achievements.

Over the last few years, Hyderabad has become an attractive destination for setting up SMEs. Emerging SMEs: Hyderabad 2008 focuses on SMEs whose manufacturing units are situated in Hyderabad and nearby areas. The publication covers three prominent sectors in terms of number of units and employment, viz., Engineering, Pharmaceuticals and IT & ITeS-BPO.

For the purpose of inclusion in the publication, over 3,500 companies were contacted and screened on the basis of turnover, investment and employee size. The end result is a repository of authenticated information on SMEs. A total of 270 companies have been covered and profi led in the publication, of which 138 are from engineering, 70 from pharmaceuticals and 62 from IT & ITeS-BPO sectors. It also includes the cluster insights that have been garnered from the direct responses of the SMEs pertaining to structure, activities and the cluster related benefits and hindrances.
