Q. What according to you is the impact of global slowdown on the Indian ITeS/BPO industry?
A. For FY10, the Indian ITeS and BPO industry may witness sluggish growth with a short term impact, but I do not see any long term impact. Infact, the global slowdown has thrown open unique business opportunities on legal, foreclosure, default management, banking, risk & fraud management etc.

Q. In view of current economic crisis, what is your strategy to retain the existing client and acquire new client?
A. In view of this current crisis we do not see any significant impact in retaining and/or acquiring new clients. At the same time, most of Quatrro’s niche services and solutions are targeted across a range of customer segments including small and medium businesses segments, corporations & law firms and this has increased our reach and serviceability further helping us acquire more clients.

Q. The slowdown has affected pricing in the BPO sector? For mid size and small companies, these are difficult time to compete in pricing front against the big size companies? What are your views about the same?
A. The slowdown has in some ways affected pricing in the BPO sector. However, our niche offerings & platform based solutions significantly lowers the TCO (Total Cost of Ownership) of our customers and hence companies like ours (Quatrro) operating in the niche sectors have not been affected significantly.

Q. Hiring in ITeS-BPO has been low over the last one year, what are your company’s plans in terms of hiring in the coming year?
A. We are in a domain-based business and hence continue to hire specialists, although not in a large scale.

Q. Do you think that the domestic ITeS/BPO market would emerge as an alternative market for Indian companies? Any specific verticals?
A. The Indian domestic ITeS/BPO industry would rather be an additional market and not just another alternative for Indian companies. With high industry growth especially in sectors like retail, manufacturing, telecom & banking, we see huge opportunities in the domestic side.

Q. What are the steps to be taken by the companies to attract business from the domestic market?
A. At Quatrro we offer only niche services to the domains of travel, technical support, risk & fraud management etc. We have specialised teams with experience in the Indian domestic market.

Q. In view of current pressures in margin and spiralling employee cost in India, what are the initiatives taken by your company?
A.Employee & other costs have been relatively stable over the last year. We have not seen any pressures on our margins.

Q. Recently, several countries are practicing nationalistic policies; can you share the impact of global delivery on adopting local employment model? What are the challenges associates with this?
A. We are conscious of the policies that are being adhered to while adopting our company’s employment model. Our delivery model is a mix of onshore and offshore which in turn makes our employment model boundary less & location agnostic.

Q. How do you foresee the growing competition arising from the other emerging destinations such as Philippines, Mexico to name a few? What are the advantages offered by them as compared to India?
A. Quatrro is a global organisation with a multi-geography presence. We view near & emerging destinations as opportunities rather then threats.

Q. What are the major issues and challenges witnessing by your company and industry as a whole?
A. In view of this current crisis we do not see any major issues and challenges being witnessed by our company. With this changing global business scenario and the liberalisation of Indian economic policy, there could be issues & challenges for the ITeS-BPO industry, as a whole.

Q. The latest economic fundamentals are indicating recovery; do you think that Indian ITeS-BPO is also recovering?
A. Yes. Looking at global cues emanating from the latest economic fundamentals which are indicating recovery, the Indian ITeS-BPO is also showing early signs of recovery.

Q. Please comment on the outlook of the Indian ITeS/BPO industry and your company in particular?
A. Quatrro is piloting the next generation of ITeS-BPO industry. We have embraced Beyond the ExistingSM strategy and focused on identifying uncontested spaces and newer service lines. We are the leaders in taking the industry to the next level of outsourcing, while providing innovative and cost effective solutions to clients across the globe.
