Dun & Bradstreet India is pleased to release the seventh edition of its publication ‘India’s Top ITeS and BPO Companies 2011’. The publication aims to cover the leading players from the ITeS and BPO space and update the reader about the recent trends, developments and issues within the ITeS and BPO sector.

The Indian ITeS and BPO industry has emerged as one of the fastest growing sectors in the country. The sector accounted for nearly 34% of the global BPO market in 2010. It is also one of the highest contributors of employment to the nation, offering direct employment to more than 2.2 mn people, as per NASSCOM.

According to NASSCOM estimates, the Indian ITeS and BPO sector generated total revenues of about USD 16.9 bn in FY11, registering a CAGR of about 18.2% since FY07. The sector’s export revenue which accounts for more than 80% of the total revenue stood at USD 14.1 bn, reporting a CAGR of 16.9% from FY07 to FY11. The domestic market which is relatively smaller in size stood at around USD 2.7 bn, showing significant traction by growing at 26.1% CAGR for the same period.

The past couple of years have witnessed the transition of the sector from offering nascent BPO services to rendering high-end analytical and knowledge services to global clients. Companies are now making a conscious effort to increase their value propositions in the form of integrated service offerings across diversified verticals through unified platforms. In the future, the Indian ITeS and BPO industry is likely to go through a paradigm shift across markets, service offerings and business models. Huge opportunities beckon in the form of emerging verticals such as Knowledge Process Outsourcing (KPO), Legal Process Outsourcing (LPO), Engineering Process Outsourcing (EPO) and Clinical Research Outsourcing (CRO). The growth is likely to be driven by analytical services, Finance & Accounting (F&A) and industry specific business solutions.

To combat the global uncertainties and explore new avenues in the domestic market, ITeS and BPO companies are becoming increasingly flexible in terms of service offerings. New operating models with increased depth of services and domain expertise are being offered in order to adapt to changing business dynamics. Re-aligned strategies formed at this stage are expected to play a significant role in the long-term growth prospects of the industry.

Dun & Bradstreet is confident that this publication will serve as a reliable source of information on India’s leading ITeS and BPO companies. I hope you enjoy reading ‘India’s Top ITeS and BPO Companies 2011’ and I look forward to receiving your suggestions.
