Background

Headquartered in Bengaluru, Rajesh Exports Ltd (Rajesh Exports) was established in 1989 as a partnership firm to manufacture and export jewellery. In 1990, it established its first gold jewellery manufacturing facility in India. In 2007, the company established its retail chain stores under the name of Laabh Jewellers. Rajesh Exports is mainly engaged in the business of gold products.

Rajesh Exports’s operations are directed towards manufacture and export of gold & diamond jewellery. The company’s exports products are distributed within the domestic wholesale market as well as the international markets. The company retails its products through its own network of retail jewellery showrooms viz. Shubh Jewellers and Laabh Jewellers. Rajesh Exports offers jewellery products that include earrings, rings, pendants, chains, bracelets, necklace sets and bangles among others. The company’s design portfolio consists of approximately 30,000 designs of plain gold and gem sets. The company has a jewellery

manufacturing facility at Whitefield, Bengaluru capable of producing hand-made jewellery, casting jewellery, machine chains, stamped jewellery, studded jewellery, tube jewellery and electro-formed jewellery. During FY08, the company concluded associate agreements for the launch of 100 Shubh Jewellers stores across India. During the same time, the company successfully launched 9 international diamond studded jewellery brands viz. Harmony, Eternal, Solitaire, Teen, Filigree, Southern, Ghazal, Aishwarya and Sushmita. For the third quarter ended Dec 09, Rajesh Exports Ltd posted net revenues of Rs 45.32 bn, a growth of 66% as compared to same quarter of 2008. It also reported a 157% (y-o-y) rise in net profits to Rs 439 mn.
