India is now at the centre stage of the global economic activity, having clocked a robust and healthy GDP growth over 8% in the last three fiscals. Small and Medium Enterprises have played a predominant role in the development of the economy, and they form the backbone of industrial development.
Recognizing the commendable work done by the Indian SMEs and the prominent role played by them in industrial and economic development of the country, Dun & Bradstreet in association with Fullerton India is pleased to announce ‘Dun & Bradstreet – Fullerton India SME Awards 2008’, felicitating the front runners amongst SMEs across ten sectors. Our publication, ‘Emerging SMEs of India 2008’, profiling the leading players will also be released at the occasion.
Dun & Bradstreet and Fullerton India proposes to launch the publication ‘Emerging SMEs of India 2008’ and present the ‘Dun & Bradstreet – Fullerton India SME Awards 2008’ to the players in the Indian SME segment across 10 sectors at a grand awards ceremony on Tuesday, 30th September 2008 at the Grand Ballroom, The Leela Kempinski, Mumbai, 6:30 PM onwards.
Players across the following ten sectors in two revenue brackets would be felicitated:-
- Auto
- Chemicals and Petrochemicals
- Pharmaceuticals
- Food and Agro Products
- IT and ITeS
- Gems & Jewellery
- Plastic, Plastic Goods and Plastic Processing
- Leather and Leather products
- Textiles (including Readymade Garments)
- Engineering Goods (Including machinery and Instruments excluding electronic goods)
The awards and the listing of the emerging SMEs will be across ten sectors in the following two revenue brackets:
1. Small: Net Sales below Rs 50 crores (except ITeS-BPO net sales below Rs 5 crores)
2. Medium: Net Sales between Rs 50 – 100 crores (except ITeS-BPO net sales between Rs 5 – 10 crores)
Dun & Bradstreet and Fullerton India proposes to document the achievements of the winners and runners up in the form of a publication titled as ‘Emerging SMEs of India 2008’. The publication will profile the winners and runner ups in each sector and capture the essence of their growth while giving them an excellent opportunity to reach out to their clients current and potential, both in India and globally.
Based on a composite formula of different parameters, each revenue bracket will comprise of the following-
1. One Emerging SME
2. Two Runner Ups
Emerging SMEs of India 2008 will list the featured SMEs on the following parameters:
1. Sectors
2. Revenue Bracket
3. Award Category
Additionally, the award winners would be profiled with brief descriptions of their history, products, operations and achievements
