Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) are crucial to the Indian economy as they significantly contribute towards exports, generate employment, industrialise rural areas and promote entrepreneurs in remote parts of the country. SMEs have boosted the Indian economy’s competitiveness in an increasingly-challenging global economic scenario. IDBI Bank has been extending financial support to SMEs across the length and breadth of the country. The bank takes special measures in meeting the SMEs’ credit needs in the shortest possible time.

IDBI Bank is a universal bank that provides an entire range of banking products and services for both corporate and retail borrowers, including agricultural and MSME segments. The bank even has created an SME vertical that has a special focus on the banking needs of MSMEs and taps the growth opportunity offered by this segment.

The bank has developed a special business model to serve SMEs in India and plans to set up 40 City SME Centres (CSC) across India, out of which 17 CSCs have already been launched. These CSCs have dedicated SME desks that support the loan processing and back office activities to strengthen the credit delivery mechanism. IDBI Bank’s SME cells at the branches serve as front offices for sales and customer service. IDBI Bank has also introduced various client-friendly products for SMEs like term loans, working capital loans etc in addition to the normal products.
