Building Resilient Urban Infrastructure

As economies grow and become richer, they also become more urban. The contribution of urban areas to India’s GDP is expected to grow from around 60% in 2020 to around 85% by 2050. This increase in urban GDP will be accompanied by an increase in urban population. 400 mn people are likely to be added to the cities in the next 30 years, whereas the previous 400 mn took almost 60 years. Cities are going to become more crowded and at a much faster rate creating a pressing need for developing urban infrastructure. NextGen Infrastructure will have a key role to play in improving the quality of life and productivity across cities.
