Theme – ‘Laying the Foundations for an ESG-Ready Corporate India’

The outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic has led to increased awareness about the scale of risks that could arise out of unprecedented events. The fact that companies that were better prepared to manage these risks were weathering the crisis better than others has given impetus to Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) factors. ESG programs are now being considered as key components of long-term value and business resiliency. Socially-conscious investors and shareholders are also beginning to make investment decisions based on a company’s impact on the world. There is a strong belief that ESG programs could help buffer the impact of the current pandemic crisis, accelerate recovery, spur innovation needed to navigate the new normal and reduce risks to possible crises in the future. Accordingly, the theme of the India’s Top 500 Companies 2021 was ‘Laying the Foundations for an ESG-Ready Corporate India’.

How India’s Top 500 Companies 2021 was Different?

  • The 2021 edition of the publication will feature a new separate Listing of the Leading 100 Unlisted Companies in India.
